When you put your key in the ignition, what station would play right now? I am an FM guy because I'm the poorest of them all. So, probably between 94.5 KOOL-FM or 106.7 KWSS-FM Independent Radio.
What's the last song played on your portable music player? You're not going to believe this, but I don't have one. I used to have an iPod, but it broke like everything else nice I've owned. I bet it was something really dumb though, like Raphy.
What's the first album you bought? I think it would be Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park. I was a troubled half-angry youth that loved those tunes. Just kidding, I was introduced to them on a Boy Scout trip, and then I went out and bought the CD the next week.
What's the first concert you saw? Switchfoot! The band sang that song from A Walk to Remember and we wept and wept and wept. I dare you to move!
What's your favorite concert you've ever been to? Lollapalooza '09! Crystal Castles, Peter, Bjorn, & John, and Animal Collective were the highlights. Sunburn was the lowlight.
Preferred format: CD, vinyl, cassette, 8-Track or digital? Digital -- you can't fight technology. But, you can't scratch a .wav file. I dunno, I feel like I'd be too retro/hipster if I had a record player.
What's your favorite album? Right now, it's got to be Synthetica, Metric. The whole album is good top to bottom. I've listened to the entire album like five or six times in the last week.
Who is your favorite singer or band? Are we factoring in looks? Because John Mayer -- just 'cause he's a beast. Man crush. If we're not factoring in looks, I'm going with John Mayer because he plays so well live.
Does you computer track how many times you've played something -- if so, what's at the top of the list? "I'm on a Boat," The Lonely Island.
What was your favorite new or new-to-you album from the past year? Watch the Throne, Kanye West and Jay-Z. I hadn't been paying attention to them at all, so this album was pretty sweet even though it's a year old.
What band do you wish was still together? The Beatles or Nirvana. Let's bring somebody back from the dead with this wish.
What one song would you play if you had a world-wide radio audience? Lots of pressure here, so I'll go with a trusted one. "Let it Be," by The Beatles.
Who is your favorite local artist? Darkness Dear Boy. They're sounding pretty funky.
What is your favorite local venue to see music? The Yucca Tap Room is within walking distance from my house, so it all works out perfectly when I go out drinking and want to listen to music.
What is your favorite music video? This stop motion video is pretty beautiful. "Her Morning Elegance," Oren Lavie.
